a wonderful weekend
ahh. after such a crazy week at work it felt good to relax this weekend. couple weeks back my hubby bought a project jet boat. we finally took it out this weekend. its not fixed yet or anything but we got whole winter for that. :) anyway. i though id share alittle bit of the fun that we had.
weather this week has been better. i hope it continues. no rain = me happy. :) im not a fan of rain so i am not looking forward to this season. hopefully we’re gonna have a warm one. :)
Camping
[mini update about our mimi :). they are not longer fighting. actually they are now bffs. which is awesome. ill post some pics later-i feel funny-most ladies post picturws of their babies and cute baby stuff-im posting stuff about... well cats. :) ]
we went camping for labor day weekend. i just thought i’d share some of the signts we’ve seen. we went hiking, went to see grand coulee dam and of course had yummy camp food-let me tell you-there is nothing like a grilled burger made by the man of your dreams at midnight :)
the grand coulee dam
we rented a little boat on one of the days-it was a pontoon boat-the awesome thing about it-you can “park” it pretty much anywhere. we were able to stop at this little island. since its a man made lake (banks lake) most of their beaches are made out of clay which was pretty fun to walk in.
we did some more riding on the boat untill we found a perfect spot for a little hike.
view from one of the parts of the moutain that we reached.
some wind mills on our way home.

Meet Mimi
[before you go on reading this post-if you dont like cats i suggest that you dont read it :)]
we have a war going on at our house right now. we decided (actually my hubby sorta surprised me by bringing it) to add another little kitty to our little family. we’ve been thinking about it for a while now but never got around to it and just always thought it was a hassle. but now that we finally decided to make jack (our older cat) happy-or at least we thought he would be-we brought a little kitten.
many people before doing this probably did reasearch on how to bring two cats together-but not us. we thought they would just get along like nothing. be best friends and play with each other and have fun.
oh how wrong were we.
ever since we brought little mimi home-there has been fussing, hissing, loud meowing, and almost attacking each other at our house non-stop. we didnt know what was going on and thats when we finally decided to google up and read how two bring two cats together. it turns out-by nature-cats do prefer to live alone. they are not as social as dogs are and just survive on their own. they get very competitive for food, water, toys and attention.
we are now at day two. they are not hissing at each other as much. just avoiding each other. we try to give them space and not push them to be together and that seems to be helping. unfortunately there was a little bit of fighting -but that ended fast. some say it takes weeks for two cats to adapt to each other. i hope ours will get used to each other quicker than that. i want them to be buddies. they are just so cute and i like both of them.
they’ve been like this pretty much the whole time they are together. from time to time they come up and sniff each other for a little and sit close to each other but then one of them will hiss or try to hit one another and they go to their hide places. but its okay. we’ll just have to wait and see how long it will take to get them to get along.
Hawaii ☼ [part 2]
here is part two of our hawaii trip.
a must do for everyone who visits hawaii (or any place that does this)-parasailing. it was getting fairly late in the evening and part of the ride is getting dunked in the water. first we were hesitating to do it but decided to do it. and so glad we did-the water was awesome!
we had fun-the crew was fun and people on board with us were fun as well. i dont wanna bore any of you anymore with this so im done. sorry that my posts are spotty-i have been super busy with work. but i will try to post some more as soon as my work load is lifted off me.
but for now- have a great weekend. and enjoy what now here in washington already feels like fall. i know im not going to :(
Hawaii ☼
it feels good to be back. but then again-vacations are always awesome.. here are some pictures from our trip.
we rented these cute coupes.

we had them for almost the whole day and we drove all the way from honolulu to lanikai beach. saw some beatuful beaches, honolulu blowhole and whole lot of other fun stuff.
we visted the zoo and the aquarium.
[baby sister didnt put this toy down for days-she kept saying its going to swim with me in the ocean. what a cutie.]
well this post is long enough. ha i think ill have to do part 2.
a little update whats coming to twisted photo blog.
be on the lookout next week for more posts on our hawaii trip. fun diys & finally going to do a 6 things [friday] post because i am way overdue.
happy friday :)
Trip #2
the time has almost come. we are now just days away from our exciting trip to hawaii. many friends and family from here and california will be coming with us and it will be a great reunion. I am very excited about places that we’re gonna go and things we’re gonna do. honolulu is a very lively place so we are very excited to do some exploring.
snorkeling is a must do. on our honeymoon we went on an all day snorkeling expedition and we loved it so much that we ended up buying our own snorkeling gear. we cannot wait to go this time again and see some cool fishes :)
these things are huge. sea turtles are fairly rare on beaches of hawaii but once you get to a more secluded area on some little island-they are just beautiful.
never swam with the dolphins before-too scared. but really want to.
and of course kayaking. if not too wavy-this is a perfect way to spend the day. im super excited for this one because this time it’s actually kayaking & snorkeling. we will be kayaking out to a small island that is just couple miles off the shore of our beach and will be doing some snorkeling on that island. they also have tide pools and lots of interesting trees and plants.
Bite Of Seattle
Every summer Seattle holds an event called Bite of Seattle which is a Food Festival. A lot of different restaurants and many different vendors are at this event offering their food and products. Although I have heard of this event before, this year is the first year we went. Joining us on this beautiful day was my husbands brother and his beautiful family as well as my sister in law and her boyfriend. We had lots of fun.
And of course they had the Foster Farm Plumper Chickens.
and their pimped out ride :))
The tastiest gift
Ahh the birthday weekend is here. Yesterday we went out with our friends to a very nice restaurant -BlueWater Bistro [thanks to my hubby for putting the effort on finding such a nice place]. Lets just say the evening was amazingly well spent-we loved the place and the company of our awesome friends-Carly and Kevin.
And of course the real reason for this post-my yummiest birthday present-from Carly and Kevin. Drool everyone :))
Oh yeah-it was gone in no time. Thank you times a 100000 Carly!!
Birthdays
Its my birthday this Friday. I love birthdays. I get all the attention and this day is all about me (no I am not being selfish -you all love your birthdays just as much ;] ). The gifts and the time spent with dear friends and family-best time of the year!
My amazing husband decided to wish me a happy birthday earlier. Yes I finally got myself a “fancy” camera. :)
I absolutly love it. Takes amazing pictures and the quality is just awesome. Thank you Hubby! You are awesome :))
The unforgettables. [part 2]
Its finally cooling down. We are now down into 70-75. Boy am I glad. But it was nice to have some good weather.
In other notes, here is some more from our trip to California last week. Next day after Six Flags we went to a waterpark called Sunsplash. This was a perfect way to spend 100 degree weather. It was unbelievably hot.

We unfortunatly missed the fireworks on the forth. So no pictures of that. But we did eat some bomb food instead. Thanks to my uncle Alex for taking us out to yummy restaurants and once again to aunt Valentina and cousin Nella for such great and wonderful time. I cant wait to see you all of you in Hawaii in less than 5 weeks. :))
Cooling off. [sort of]
Ever since we got back from California the weather here has been insane. We havent had temperatures lower than 80 during day time since Tuesday. Well heres a way to cool yourself off :))
You will need a home made waffle cone
(2 eggs, pinch of salt, 1/2 cup of sugar, 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, 1 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of milk -mixing them in that order and baking them in a waffle maker [i got an awesome one from my mom in law]

A very tasty ice cream
And put the two together
Enjoy and stay cool :))
The unforgettables. [part 1]
The trip to California was a complete success. Except for the part where our car broke down and we were stranded 18 miles away from Salem and had to wait for a towing truck to show up for 3 hours.
But it was really worth all the trouble. We arrived there Friday morning and after a yummy lunch prepared by my wonderful aunt Valentina and my dearest cousin Nella, we headed out to our first and most exciting spot-Six Flags- Vallejo, California.
The weekend was full of fun and excitment. Stay tuned for more.
Trip #1

Tonight at approximately 10 pm we will be hitting the road on a 12 hour trip down to sunny California. I’m so excited because I haven’t seen my dear cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents since 2008.
Part of the trip will include a trip to the Vallejo Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. This became a family tradition after we just came to America back in 2003 and good friends of my parents took us there. Every year we would drive down to California to visit and every year we would go to Six Flags.
There is another trip that we already planned and going to take in August to Hawaii. Many relatives from California and from here will be joining us on this exciting trip. I can’t wait!
I’m so excited to make new memories and have tons a fun. Can’t wait to see you Nella!!
Problem [laundry basket: DIY]
We live with a problem in the house. The problem’s name is Jack.
Although he has a stand that he is supposed to be sharpening his nails on, he still prefers my laundry basket. Especially after you cut his nails – he just scratches things 24/7. Well I found a solution for fixing my basket.
You will need the following:
-1 yard of leather (or any material that you prefer)
-scissors
-hot glue gun and glue stix
-ruler
The before..
1. cut your fabric approx 12 inches each piece folding approx 2 inches on each side making the fabric peace 8 inches and hot gluing it (depending on how tall your basket is-cut the peace accordingly in length)
2. take the basket and start on top and hot glue the corners folding it inside the basket and doing same thing along the bottom of the basket
3. do same thing to both sides and then hot glue on both side lengthwise along the basket
4. to finish up take off the cover top of the basket and just wrap it around and hot glue the fabric and let it dry
And the after!
Ocean View
The husband and I always take a trip to Ocean Shores during the Memorial weekend but unfortunatly the weather wasnt participating with us this year. So last weekend we decided to go (and my sister tagged along with us this time too) and the weather was absolutly gorgeous! It was 75F and the wind was blowing a bit so it wasnt too hot and wasnt too cold-in other words- it was perfect.
We always rent motor bikes from a local rental shops and just go for rides out on the beach. Once we drove out far enough where there wasnt too many people, I pulled out the camera and started snapping away. Enjoy!
The sun was shining beautifully [as you can see]
