Problem [laundry basket: DIY]
We live with a problem in the house. The problem’s name is Jack.
Although he has a stand that he is supposed to be sharpening his nails on, he still prefers my laundry basket. Especially after you cut his nails – he just scratches things 24/7. Well I found a solution for fixing my basket.
You will need the following:
-1 yard of leather (or any material that you prefer)
-scissors
-hot glue gun and glue stix
-ruler
The before..
1. cut your fabric approx 12 inches each piece folding approx 2 inches on each side making the fabric peace 8 inches and hot gluing it (depending on how tall your basket is-cut the peace accordingly in length)
2. take the basket and start on top and hot glue the corners folding it inside the basket and doing same thing along the bottom of the basket
3. do same thing to both sides and then hot glue on both side lengthwise along the basket
4. to finish up take off the cover top of the basket and just wrap it around and hot glue the fabric and let it dry
And the after!
DIY Cupcake Wrapper Painting
I was very much inspired by Julia’s (Picture Party Blog) post about doilies. So I decided to make a painting myself. With the spray painting help from my husband the painting turned out very cool..
-canvas 8×10
-cupcake wrappers
-spray paint
-paint brush
-paint
-silver square brads ( i painted over the brads with paint) -scissors
Before…
Step 1: Spray paint the canvas and let it dry (I decided to leave some spots lighter than other)
After…
The Materials… (some missing)
Step 2: Decide what shape you want the cupcake wrappers to be – I folded mine 3 times and then cut a wavy line straight across
Step 3: Spray paint the already cut out cupcake wrappers and let them dry
Step 4: Paint the brads the color you wish (the brads came as metal and I took some paint and painted over them) Let them dry. Another alternative is to clip the cupcake wrappers to the canvas in the arrangement that you like and paint the brads when they are already on the painting-just make sure you are careful not to get the paint on the cupcake wrappers.
The Complete Project…
Ocean View
The husband and I always take a trip to Ocean Shores during the Memorial weekend but unfortunatly the weather wasnt participating with us this year. So last weekend we decided to go (and my sister tagged along with us this time too) and the weather was absolutly gorgeous! It was 75F and the wind was blowing a bit so it wasnt too hot and wasnt too cold-in other words- it was perfect.
We always rent motor bikes from a local rental shops and just go for rides out on the beach. Once we drove out far enough where there wasnt too many people, I pulled out the camera and started snapping away. Enjoy!
The sun was shining beautifully [as you can see]
